Giving Back to the Community

On Saturday, June 3, 2023, I was blessed to attend and witness an event where my book, From the Projects to the Boardroom, was selected to honor high school and college students who wrote an essay on it. Being able to meet these students was such a joy. Hearing how God has used my story to encourage and impact so many was truly humbling.

A special thank you to Mr. Joseph High and Mrs. Kathleen High for providing scholarships to the three winners and purchasing every student a copy of my book. Joe and Kathleen genuinely understand that “Success is when I add value to myself. Significance is when I add value to others.” -John Maxwell.

The High family provided checks for all three winners and seeded a 529 plan for the first-place honoree.

As generous as the High family is, they cannot begin to fill the need for books to help the many young men and women who would benefit from them. That’s why I’m writing you.

There are countless communities and organizations I would love to go into and encourage and leave a copy of the book with the students, parents, and guardians, but I need your help to make that happen. My story about a little boy living in poverty from the projects is not unique to me. Unfortunately,  it is the norm for many of our youth; they are crying out for hope. They need to hear the hope of my story– a journey out of poverty from the projects all the way to a corporate boardroom, led by a God who never let go of my hand.

If you would like to partner with us to supply a church or organization with copies of this much-needed book, please reply to this email and let me know how much you would like to contribute. I will respond to you with specifics. There are discounts for quantity purchases. The single-copy price is $14.99. The gift of books can be made in your name or anonymously.

I am also available to speak to groups and sign books personally.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:16.
